Stop opening Resolve just to see what you shot.

Divecut shows your Log footage in the right color, lets you search it in plain words, and hands your selects to DaVinci Resolve — Log intact.

The problem

Log footage looks flat everywhere except your NLE.

Finder, QuickTime, every asset browser — they all show S-Log3, Apple Log, V-Log and HLG as washed-out gray. So you end up opening Resolve and scrubbing a timeline just to answer “what did I actually shoot?”

Finder — flat gray thumbnails
Finder: every Log clip, washed out.
Divecut — the same clips, correct color
Divecut: the same clips, in the color you shot them for.

What it does

Built for the part of the job nobody built for.

🎞️

The right color, automatically

Divecut reads camera metadata to detect S-Log3, Apple Log, HLG and more, and displays footage through the proper conversion. No proxies, no rendering — your originals are never touched.

🔍

Search in plain words

“fire”, “person on a bridge”, “red car at night” — on-device AI finds the shot you remember, not the file you named. Fully offline; nothing ever leaves your Mac.

⌨️

Cull without touching the mouse

Rate, pick, reject, set in/out points — the entire review flow works from the keyboard, the way stills culling tools got right years ago.

🧺

A tray for your selects

Collect keepers into a tray as you go, then drag them all out at once — to Finder, to your NLE, anywhere that accepts files.

🎬

Hand off to Resolve, Log intact

Send selects with in/out ranges straight to a DaVinci Resolve timeline. Clips arrive as Log with viewing LUTs applied as metadata — your grade starts from the real files, not baked-in copies.

🔒

Offline by design

No cloud, no uploads, no account. Divecut references your footage in place and stores only its own metadata.

About

Made by Takashi

I run Motley Beaks Inc., a one-person company in Osaka, Japan.

For years I’ve built plugins and macros for DaVinci Resolve — Fusion tools, OpenFX plugins, LUTs. I also shoot and grade my own work, which is how I ran into this problem in the first place: I kept opening Resolve just to see what was on the card.

This app is what I wanted to exist. It’s my first Swift app, and I’m building it in the open.
